You’ve decided that you are going to get a photo booth for your event. Congratulations, you’ve made one of the best choices that you could make! There are still a couple of things that you’re going to have to iron out, though. Should you get a classic booth or more of an open-air option? What’s the difference between the two? We’ll walk you through the differences and some of the scenarios where it may make more sense to choose one option over the other.
Benefits of a Classic Booth
The classic booth option, where you essentially took selfies before they were popular, has a great nostalgic feel to it. There are a ton of people who are going to have memories flowing back to them by just sitting in one of these booths. While you can, of course, invite a couple of friends in to take pictures in these closed booths, there is a sense of romanticism that they bring. That’s a bit harder to capture with the open-air options.
Benefits of an Open-Air Booth
Now, an open-air booth typically is going to favor larger group pictures. Without the space restriction that you get with the closed booth, more people are going to fit in the frame. That can make for some very interesting photos as well. What’s interesting also is that these open-air options may take up a bit less space. That’s ironic because we just said that more people are going to fit in the frame. You don’t have to worry about carrying a large box that has to fit somewhere and be comfortable for people to get in there. If you have a limited space, these open-air options can be easier to accommodate.
What Type of Events Suit a Classic Booth Best?
It may sound a bit odd, but they work really well in more formal dinners that couples tend to attend. In these situations, what they do is allow couples to break the formal dynamic and get a little bit more romantic. Parties filled with friends with a vintage theme to them also really benefit from these booths. You can cram a few friends into the booth and take the pictures. The experience is quite nostalgic and classic. When you’re having a great time at the party, you really can’t go wrong with these pictures.
Where Does it Make Sense to Go With an Open-Air Option?
Maybe you want something that doesn’t take up a ton of space, and yet many people can fit in a picture. To be completely honest, sometimes these booths are easier to rent out because you just don’t need too much equipment to set them up. They can look great in both formal and informal events. People are typically going to be a bit less intimidated to walk into the booth. Shy personalities may have more of a problem making a goofy face in front of the other people who may be waiting in line at the time. It’s a small price to pay though.
